Product Design and Design Engineering Consultancy in Cambridge and Norfolk
Our diverse experience developing industrial products will provide the right solution for your new project.
A short list of processes we have worked with include: Injection moulding, metal casting, press forming, rotational moulding, vacuum forming, sheet metal, steel workand even textiles.
We will make sure your product is designed to the highest standards: From creating concepts for showing to your clients up to a detail engineer solution and validation of your product using computer stress analysis (FEA), fluid dynamics (CFD) and rapid prototyping.
Proficient in CAD (Solidworks) and rendering, still images and animations (3dmax) the communication with your team, customers and suppliers won’t be an issue.
RESEARCH
Market research (qualitative and quantitative), user research, competitor or substitute product analysis.
Design for Six Sigma and similar tools: FMEA (Failure modes and effects analysis), QFD (Quality Function Deployment), C&E (Cause and effects matrix), SWOT analysis, Kano models, Design
CONCEPT
Concept development, sketch rendering, 3d rendering, 3d animations, 2d drawings and initial calculations.
DEVELOPMENT
Detail design, 3D detail modeling, 3D Assembly modeling, tolerance calculations, assembly and manufacturing simulations.
SIMULATIONS
FEA (Finite element analysis) for structure and mechanical optimization and reduce material. CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) to validate thermal and aerodynamic properties.
PROTOTYPE
3D Models and simulators; quick and inexpensive models to prove ergonomics, user interface, assembly and aesthetics
Test rigs; Used to prove and validate functionality, efficiency and mechanical properties
Rapid prototyping; using the latest technology we can provide a prototypes in very short lead times. We use : Stereolithography (SLA), Selective laser sintering (SLS) Fused deposition modeling (FDM), vacuum casting and CNC machining. We can also produce sample and prototypes in many other methods.
DESIGN FOR MANUFACTURE
Strict detail design that provides accurate drawings and information for making the manufacturing process as smooth and inexpensive as possible; Optimization of material, reduce manufacturing and assembly time, ensure perfect quality, reduce lead times, ease of assembly, error proof assembly.
MANUFACTURING MANAGEMENT
Supervise and make sure the manufacturing process runs as predicted
CONTINOUS IMPROVEMENT
Keep looking for opportunities to reduce costs and manufacturing lead time, improve quality and offer better products to the end user.
